E-OSIX suspensions

2014: release of the E-OSIX
The E-OSIX was developed at the same time as the PIANISSIMO windshield, which required the creation of new sizes of suspension modules to be switchable between the PIANISSIMO, the PIANO and the E-OSIX.
The “E” in E-OSIX comes from the elliptical shape of the isolators.
The E-OSIX is modular and easily adaptable unlike the OSIX. It is composed of a suspension module, a cable, a swivel and a fixing knob
For most situations, its modularity allows there to be two versions of suspension module: one called “SOFT” for gentle indoor use and one called “HARD” adapted for exteriors in order to support a heavier frontal projection.
In contrast to OSIX, each of these two modules “SOFT” and “HARD” is optimized according to its use
Modularity of the standard E-OSIX:
Because of its elliptical isolators, the E-OSIX is more compact than the OSIX.
Unlike the OSIX, whose crossed isolators are screwed, the elliptical isolators of the E-OSIX are glued.
The E-OSIX is reserved for Mono and MS monotube microphones (with some exceptions).
Therefore it does not completely replace OSIX, which is more favorable to MS configurations with two microphone bodies.
The OSIX also retains its advantage for some large microphones (e.g. MKH60) and for some others whose combination with elliptical isolators increases the vibration sensitivity for certain midrange frequencies (e.g. classic CMC6, MKH8060).
The E-OSIX and the MOD-E-OSIX-xxx suspension modules have been designed to receive the new microphones with miniaturized electronics (MiniCMIT, CMC1 U/L, DPA 4017C, DPA 4018C…)
The E-OSIX is mainly categorized as :
Specific modules, non separable, for
The E-OSIX is also available in an even more compact suspension with a single suspension isolator: the MINIX.
The MINIX is dedicated to very short microphones with a specific output connector (Lemo, Sennheiser MZL)
There are 2 MINIX in the catalog:
All E-OSIX and MINIX are equipped with the SW-UL-B toothed swivel since 2018.
The base of the SW-UL-B can be rotated +/- 90°, which allows for a choice of XLR or Plug-On transmitter positioning.
A wiring option, referred to as “RF-OPT“, offers enhanced protection against interference caused by the increasing use of digital transmitters (see “Parts and Accessories” range).
